Kolmogorov - Smirnov - type testing for the partial homogeneity of Markov processes - with application to credit risk

چکیده
In banking the default behavior of the counterpart is of interest not only for the pricing of transactions under credit risk but also for the assessment of portfolio credit risk. We develop a test against the hypothesis that default intensities are constant over time within a homogeneous group of counterparts under investigation, e.g. a rating class. The Kolmogorov-Smirnov-type test builds on the asymptotic normality of counting processes in event history analysis. Right-censoring accommodates for Markov process with more than one no-absorbing state. A simulation study and an example of rating migrations support the usefulness of the test. ∗address for correspondence: Rafael Weißbach, Institut für Wirtschaftsund Sozialstatistik, Fachbereich Statistik, Universität Dortmund, 44221 Dortmund, Germany, email: [email protected], Fon: +49/231/7555419, Fax: +49/231/7555284. Analysis of Dependency Structure of Default Processes Based on Bayesian Copula
One of the main problems in credit risk management is the correlated default. In large portfolios, computing the default dependencies among issuers is an essential part in quantifying the portfolio's credit. The most important problems related to credit risk management are understanding the complex dependence structure of the associated variables and lacking the data. This paper aims at introdu...

Purpose:The main objective of this study was to determine the effectiveness of Stewartchr('39')s behavioral-cognitive family therapy on physical impairment(Hippocandry and hysteria) in female education teachers. For this purpose, 24 female teachers of high school education in Naghadeh city, sampling method The target group was selected and grouped into two groups(12 subjects) and control...
متن کاملA new method for the comparison of survival distributions.
The assessment of overall homogeneity of time-to-event curves is a key element in survival analysis in biomedical research. The currently commonly used testing methods, e.g. log-rank test, Wilcoxon test, and Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, may have a significant loss of statistical testing power under certain circumstances. In this paper we propose a new testing method that is robust for the compariso...
متن کاملTesting Homogeneity of Time-Continuous Rating Transitions
Banks could achieve substantial improvements of their portfolio credit risk assessment by estimating rating transition matrices within a time-continuous Markov model, thereby using continuous-time rating transitions provided by internal rating systems instead of discrete-time rating information. A non-parametric test for the hypothesis of time-homogeneity is developed. The alternative hypothesi...
متن کاملTesting Identifying Assumptions in Nonseparable Panel Data Models
Recent work on nonparametric identification of average partial effects (APEs) from panel data require restrictions on individual or time heterogeneity. Identifying assumptions under the “generalized first-differencing” category, such as time homogeneity (Chernozhukov, Fernandez-Val, Hahn, and Newey, 2013), have testable equality restrictions on the distribution of the outcome variable. This pap...
